Whoever takes power in Victoria this November will be working within the ambit of federal government policy proposals that, if legislated, would cut the incomes of those Victorians who are already struggling to make ends meet, to pay for a so-called national “budget emergency”. Ian McAuley takes a look at whether this budget emergency really exists.
